It’s important to find a new language to express myself in when I’m abroad as a Russian,
a language which helps to reflect my position on the Russian agenda more accurately. I made this performance as part of a festival in Paris called Pot au Feu which we did with students from the ENSAPC school. It was important for me to speak in my native language without translating, without immersing people in the context of the preambles. But the entourage played a role. White lace sheets, a rustic dress found in a local second hand store. The wreath I made from my favourite ivy plant, which was growing around the power generator on site. It was also a sign of fate, as I was determined to play the noise. The search was inspired by american noisemaker Margaret Chardiet (Pharmakon). The instruments were lent by friends, but some I made myself. The sound was like bombs, like explosions. The word came to me gradually. Sometimes the words I used to hear in SBPC songs came to me in my dreams, other times we were discussing Russian bad words chastushkas with friends, other times it was just my poetry. Funny and tragic at the same time. In this way, the performance collected itself from day to day, I just tried to listen to my heart, nature and people around me. No one knew what would come out of all this. Even the name that was given at the beginning now had a completely different meaning. For me it is like a magic spell, like a message into space, asking to stop the horror of war.
