A cracklebox is a custom-made instrument, in the form of a noise-making electronic device. It is a small box with six metal contacts on top, which generate various unusual sounds and tones when pressed by the performer's fingers. The human body becomes a part of the circuit and determines the range of sounds possible, thus different people–or the same person at different times–shall generate different results.

This is a conversation with an old oak tree at the cottage. At a dacha in the village of Vasilki in the Vladimir region, not far from a field and a river, there is a big old oak tree. Children play on it and build makeshift huts. Now these children have grown up and I come to the oak tree as a dear friend to learn the secrets of the universe. We speak a language that few people understand.

This device was made under the supervision of Andrei Smirnov, director of the sound studio.
